Crime Stats and Safety Tips

Southeast Dallas - Sectors 310, 320, 330, 340 and 350

Burglaries 19

Robberies 7

Numbers for both are burglaries and robberies are lower than the previous timeframe.

Call Police if you are concerned about loitering on your property and police will make them leave.

Criminal activity is down significantly at the Adam's Mart and the car wash but there is still work to be done.  The Shopping Center at Bruton and Buckner is being monitered by police every weekend.  Police are reaching out to business owners to see if they can only have one entrance into the parking lot at night and having locks installed closing off the lot after hours.

Safety Tips

Pay attention to your surroundings when approaching your vehicle.

Always be alert.

Have your keys out in your hand making it easier for you to get in your car quickly and defend yourself if necessary.

Don’t be too trusting.

Don’t lock your purse in the trunk of your car.

Check card readers at ATMs and gas stations before using. Pull on card reader before using it to make sure it doesn’t come off. If it does, do not use the ATM or the gas pump.

Don’t leave large amounts of cash overnight in your establishment.

Keep only $50 - $100 in your cash register.

Have cameras installed in and around your business.

October 2017 Leadership Luncheon-Pictures

The successful October Luncheon featured Executive Directors from the feeder patterns of Samuell High School, Ms. Menay Harris,; Spruce High School, Ms. Joanne Frantzen and Skyline High School, Ms. Elizabeth Casas. The feeder patterns in southeast Dallas are comprised of 35 schools servicing over 30,000 students. The executive directors gave an awesome presentation to the luncheon attendees. Highlights and spotlights were given from each feeder pattern. The Districts top priorities are Early Learning, Early College, School Choice, Social Emotional Learning, Literacy and STEM/STEAM. In attendance were Dallas City Councilman Rick Callahan, DISD officials, principals and representatives from schools in the feeder pattern. Burglaries 39

Robberies 13

Numbers for both are burglaries and robberies are lower than the previous timeframe.

Burglaries. Fridays had the most reported burglaries with 14 out of 39 and Thursday and Wednesday was second and third. Sector 310 Buckner Terrace/Old East Dallas had the lowest number of offenses.

Robberies. There were 13 robberies in the above timeframe. Sectors 320, 350 and 330 were 1st, 2nd and 3rd with them occurring in the evening hours and most on Tuesdays.

September 2017 Leadership Luncheon with pictures

The September Leadership Luncheon featured keynote speaker, Mr. T. C. Broadnax, Dallas City Manager. Mr. Broadnax addressed the luncheon attendees and shared valued information about his vision for the city. Some his points of interest were the 2017 Bond Campaign, improvements in firehouses and substations, $40 million economic development project, homeless assistance and transitional housing, mental health issues, small businesses, and working with city leaders, companies and small businesses to help build up a better vibrant neighborhood. Elected officials in attendance were Councilman Rick Callahan, District 5, and Jaime Resendez, DISD Trustee District 4. Also in attendance was Daniel Clayton, Chief of Staff for State Representative Toni Rose, District 110.
